Winning "Best Genre Short", two years in a row(2002 and 2003) from the New York International Film Festival, Pearry Reginald Teo is a writer, director and producer with a critically recognized vision. After dropping out of school in his Arizona hometown, Pearry borrowed film equipment to create the debut films "Liberata Me" and "Children of the Arcana", winners of the awards listed above.
This initial success was quickly followed by a more traditional non-genre film "Take Me Somewhere Nice", a film told completely with visuals and no dialogue, which went on to win the Audience Choice award from the Sedona Film Festival. All of Pearry's shorts are part of a DVD collection entitled "Misanthropy" available through Amazon.
Following this Pearry authored a comic book entitled "DNA Hacker's Chronicles" published by Bloodfire Studios. Enticed by this creativity, Pearry was tapped to direct his first feature film based on the comic, "The Gene Generation", a Blade-Runner-esque Sci Fi starring Bai Ling and Faye Dunaway. The film has sold rights around the world including domestic rights to Lions Gate Pictures which will be releasing the film mid-winter 2008. The film has gone on to win the Grand Jury Award for Best Feature at the "Hole In The Head" Film Festival.
Pearry works closely with Brian Witten(currently working on the new "Friday the 13th" remake), Kim Winther("Jumper", "Mr. And Mrs Smith") who was co-producer on "Gene Generation" and Chad Michael Hall. He is currently gearing up for directing the fantasy film "Dark Oz" based on the comic book of the same name and the Oz novels of L. Frank Baum.
